Taking Care of Skin in the Wintertime
Extra care has to be taken with the skin during the
wintertime. Almost everyone experiences drier skin during cold
weather. Even if you spend a lot of time indoors, air is dry
from heaters and will still tend to dry out the skin.
Hear are some steps to ensure you skin will look
beautiful throughout the year.
First, make sure it gets plenty of moisture.
You may want to switch regular daily moisturizers with stronger ones
at this time of year. Opt for natural ingredients like shea
butter for a really soft feel. Use moisturizers at least once
daily. Once in the morning and once in the evening is a good
idea if your skin is especially dry.
Moisturize just after a shower or bath for maximum
skin penetration. This will have longer lasting effects.
It is also a good idea to exfoliate regularly in the winter.
Once a week is a good idea. Many people exfoliate the face,
but for really soft skin it may be necessary to exfoliate other
areas of the body as well, such as back or arm, legs, and chest.
With a little extra care your skin can look as subtle
and beautiful in the winter as it does in the summertime.
